Pesticide applicators get many questions about pesticides from concerned individuals, so they can benefit from having an understanding of how to talk about pesticide exposure and risks to customers and the public. Dan Wixted will talk about how the public perceives risk and how common messaging from industry, regulatory agencies, and academia can actually mislead people into rejecting IPM solutions, resulting in poor pest control and/or increased risk.
