Hours of Work: 40-hour minimum work weeks. Shift length varies as project requirements.
Meals: $50/day when travelling.
Hotels: Provided for season with the exception of long weekends.

Primary Role:
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the UTT/Arborist is responsible for completing daily field activities by operating shop equipment and tools, as deemed competent, in order to meet client goals and expectations. If the Operations Manager is not available at any time, the UTT/Arborist shall report to the AB Operations Manager.
Job Description/Responsibilities:
Promoting corporate safety values by following work plans and project level hazard assessments.
Demonstrate knowledge on proper chainsaw and tree trimming techniques.
Maintain a high level of technical knowledge in regard to chainsaws and chainsaw operations.
Identify potential hazardous trees and complete tree hazard assessments
Assess trees for risk, prune trees to maintain health
Supervise cutting crews and delegate tasks accordingly to the crew
Experience clearing powerlines in an urban and forestry setting considered an asset.
Experience with tree trimming, tree clearing considered an asset
Utility Tree Trimmer certification or equivalent required
Follow, know and understand all applicable company policies, practices and procedures
Follow, know and understand all applicable client policies, practices, procedures and site-specific policies and procedures.
Work in accordance with Marksmen HSE program.
Comply with the Occupational Health & Safety Act and all relevant regulations.
Accountable for following the client and Marksmen HSE policies and procedures to reduce incidents and damages.
Work in a manner that will not endanger themselves or others.
Report dangerous work.
Report all incidents and follow proper procedures when incident occurs.
Attend and perform in daily safety meetings, toolbox, monthly drills etc.
Worker must be fit for duty, remain fit for duty, physically fit enough to perform the job safely efficiently.
Other duties and tasks as assigned
Qualifications:
Candidates must have a valid Class 5 or Class 3A driver’s license
UTT certification or equivalent required
Experience cutting trees and forestry experience as an UTT or Arborist
A understanding of forestry operations or a farming background is considered an asset
All employees must pass insurance approval of drivers abstract and drug and alcohol pre-employment testing as per the company Drug and Alcohol policy.
