Vivianne Servant: 2 Sessions - Agricultural Health Study & Benefits of Notification
Vivianne has a Bachelor of Science degree and a Teaching Certificate in Adult and Continuing Education (both from the University of Alberta). She currently holds both an applicator certificate and a Pesticide Applicator Trainer Certificate. She worked for Alberta Environment and Parks for many years and retired in 2019. While working with AEP, she:
            o was an inspector and then an investigator with Alberta Environment for 12 years.
            o was the Pesticide Certification Specialist for 18 years
                     • developed and approved pesticide applicator and dispenser training programs in Alberta
                     • worked with industry stakeholders and Lakeland College to develop pesticide Authorized Assistant programs, Pesticide Applicator Trainer program, Farmer Pesticide Certificate program and the Acreage Owner Pesticide Certification program.
            o was a member and later co-chair on the national FPT subcommittee that established pesticide education, training and Certification standards in Canada for 30 years.
            o mentored and trained AB Environment and Parks approvals and compliance staff for many years.
            o Was a pesticide subject matter expert for Alberta Environment for many years.
Previous to working with AB. Environment, Vivianne worked for 8 years in the landscape and tree farm industries


Lisa Rybchuk: First Aid for Pesticide Exposure
Lisa studied Biological Sciences at NAIT and Horticulture at Fairview College and started her own landscaping and weed control company in 2004. In the off-seasons, Lisa performed a variety of roles as a teacher of Horticultural short courses, instructor in the NAIT Turfgrass Management program, Safety Officer in the oilfield, and Programmer with Olds College. Lisa currently runs her own vegetation control and safety training business full-time, under Woodchuk Enterprises Ltd. As a Licensed Pesticide Applicator and Trainer, Lisa provides weed control services in Landscape, Industrial, Forestry, and Industrial settings and provides tutorial assistance in pesticide applicator and dispenser courses. Lisa is also a National Construction Safety Officer and a certified instructor of multiple safety courses, including First Aid.

 

Theo Charette: Migratory Birds Training

Théo is a Biologist, & co-founder of CPP Environmental, leading the company's Operations Division. Théo completed his Master's degree in Ecology at the University of Alberta in 2001. Since then, he has contributed to a number of publications, including the "Treatise on Geochemistry", the Sustainable Forest Management Network publication: "Towards the Sustainable Management of the Boreal Forest", the "Cold Lake Beaver River Water Management Plan", & the "Guideline for Wetland Establishment on Reclaimed Oil Sands Leases, 3rd Edition". Currently, Théo is a Director of Charette Pell Poscente Environmental Corp., a boutique environmental consulting company that focuses on environmental management, breaking down barriers & reducing uncertainty for the development, restoration, & reclamation of natural resources. Théo is responsible for environmental assessment and monitoring projects, such as Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs), wildlife sweeps and assessments, construction monitoring, reclamation planning, wetland assessments, water licences, groundwater feasibility studies, and construction of end land use water bodies. Théo has led training opportunities, such as wetlands lunch and learns, wetland identification workshops, reclamation planning, and bird nest sweep courses
